Bathtub Guide
Information about walk-in tubs, liners, refinishing, faucets, manufacturers, and installation.Archive for May, 2008
This is a $47,000 bathtub by Water Games Technologies. I’m not sure if this is real or a joke, and the company doesn’t even seem to have a website. Nevertheless, it looks like a very cool product.
Duravit Bathtub
Duravit has been manufacturing bathtubs for 190 years. Made in germany, these tubs come in a variety of shapes and styles. Most of their tubs are available in a variety of sizes. They can be purchased in the United States at most kitchen & bathroom showerooms. Most of their tubs include optional air jets, water jets, and underwater lights.
Soft Bathtubs by WhiteSpa
SoftTubs (Softbathtubs.com) are gorgeous Korean-made bathtubs. Their flagship models are The Aura, The Esprit, The NewPort, and the Euroba.
They are called softtubs because they feature a patented soft interior layer to provide an extremely comfortable bathing experience. The tubs include hydrotherapy bathtub jets and inline heaters.
VibrAccoustic Bathtub by Kohler
VibrAcoustic technology adapts sound-wave vibration – proven to ease stress an ehance well-being – and creates a bath environment of harmony both invigorating and restful. This is bathing reinvented. Above water, list to any of the four instrumental compositions or your own music. The head-pocket design cradles the bather’s neck and head, enhancing the whole-body and mind relaxation. It also allows the bather’s ears to comfortably remain under water where sound and music most profoundly resonate. The color and sound delivers a multisensory hydrotherapy that synchonrizes music, vibration, and the colors of choreographed lighting in water. Preset experiences are choreographed to optimize the vibroacoustic effect. Additionally, the below water experience offers sweeping acoustic vibrations underwater.
Jacuzzi Bathtub – The Fuzion
This is the Fusion Bathtub by Jacuzzi. Jacuzzi calls themselves the inventor of Hydrotherapy, so you can be sure the whirlpool jets in this tub provide a great deep tissue massage. The tub offers a variety of chromotherapy colors (the top pictures shows the tub with the blue chromotherapy light on). The tub also offers red, green, and other colors.
American Standard Bathtubs
From American Standards Website: “We provide the style and performance that fit perfectly into life, wherever that may be. At American Standard, innovation enver stops, ingenuity never ceases, history never dates itself needs never go unmet.” Now that is Hubris from a bathroom fixture manufacturer, even if their new tubs, featured below, are gorgeous. Bathroom industry marketing has gotten so fluffy that I think it has reached the level where it hurts business because it is so unrealistic. I have a particular problem with American Standard, because they brand themselves as an American company, and yet they import most of their products from China. Obviously, it’s legal to call yourself whatever you’d like, but I think it goes beyond bad ethics in this case. Regardless, here are a few pictures of their newer bathtubs, including the town square bathtub:
